MY MGM Trip!!!!!

how could i have missed writing about this..... one of my most eventful trip..... we 5 girls, i.e me and 4 girls from ASCIL proj planned to go to MGM..... so i picked them all up from nungambakkam station and we started our journey in my merc :) ( thats what glakes people call my maruti 800)... when we were around the Planetorium, near anna university my car wheel punctured....5 girls, on a sunday, no one was there in the road....we were wondering wat to do and this auto man came up vlountarily and changed with the back up wheel i had.....and with our excitement not lost by even .1% we continued......and here comes the biggest, while we were going the trivanmiyur road, near the RTO office, the car stopped in the middle of the road :)....u shud have imagined my now, on a peak road, the buses and car would be horning so that u can become deaf, and ur car is refusing to move an inch....and then there came 2 men, who pushed the car to the corner and allowed way for the other vehicles to go......being a sunday there was no mechanic shops around and the closest was abt 1/2km away.....so the 5 of us, started pushing the car with a song......can u belive it, we were all smiling and the singing the full time....then the mechanic guy came up and did a fix for 2 mins and took 100 bugs from me.....for this 2 min fix, we spent around 1.5 hours pushing and waiting for him to come......and then all that we prayed was there was no more surprises in my car......finally when we reached MGM it was close to 12....we started @ 9:30 and reached by 12...we travelled for more than 2.5 hours which shud have been ideally covered on a sunday in 45 mins.......but for all this, we made up by having full time fun in MGM........this was one of the most unforgettable trips for me....there were rides were archana was flying from her seat.....i didnt know i shud b excited abt it or get scared......kirthiga freaked out on seeing archana flying......actually of the 5, the 2 brave ones who went for all rides were archana and shobha...... in all, one of the most eventful day....

Day 1 - Second Project

HEre i come again.....saturday was my last day in first proj and today, my first day in the second proj......everything here looks just the opposite of what it was in my ASCIL proj ( i mean 1st proj)..... the first and the foremost thing, is the new work environment.....this is the TCS office and it is so huge, everywhere u see people, every lift is crowded and the worst is the food court which is so huge but packed........just the opposite of ASCIL, which had very few people in the office, very familiar faces and there is no concept of food court. just eat in your desk....thats all....The next being the project team....i donno any of the developers in the team....all that i know are the PRoject manager and the tech lead.....so i am feeling so lost....and moreover this is a huge team....when i mean huge, a team strenght of 25 people or more....that is huge for me, bcoz ASCIL team strenght of 5 and at the max 8.....so, now u people can understand my plight.....it is just the oppsite of what i was used to in the last 6 months.....so i am finding it really difficult to get used to it....i only hope i get accustomed to it quiet sooner....the sooner, the better for me...... Letz c......

My First Project Over - Shud I Cry or Smile!!!!!!!

finally, managed to successfully complete my first proj.......but i really donno if i shud feel happy or sad abt it......it is kind of a mixed feeling......i feel really nice, that i managed to finish it and the product is all ready for going live, but at the same time, i am leaving this team which has become so close to me in this 5 months period.....though it took some time for me to get comfortable with this team during the initial days, but eventually they have all really become so close to me, that i enjoyed every minute that i spent with them..... i just cant forget the way kirthiga comes up with something really out of context when everyone in the team would be discussing on a topic very seriously, and the next minute, seriousness is gone and all of us burst out laughing...... the times where me and the project lead would fight and irritate each other over small issues and derive a sadistic pleasure out of it, and thustakeer coming up with all possible weird names for archana...... oh, i am missing all those things really!!!!!!!!!! but i think this is reality....being a business analyst, the only permanent thing in your work environment is 'CHANGE'....... i think i would also get used to it....but, it sure going to take a LOT of time....... But, ASCIL Team, i am really missing all of u, to say the least!!!!!!!! it was gr8 being with all of u..... every1 in that team is so special to me, as that was my first project after my MBA...... u people are all very special!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After 24 long years!!!!!

Finally, after 24 years Indian Cricket team has won the world cup....Be it in any form, a world cup is always special..... That too in any country like ours where cricket is just not a game but a religion, it is something very very special....I think the full credit for this goes to the captain MS Dhoni.... His calm composer and not going by the streotype captaincy, he has made it possible....When we can see every one in the team looking towards Dhoni in the field for each and every move or for the next action, it is evident that he is a good leader. But not to take the credit off from others...Its an absolute team effort...I am even more happy, as my favorite player Irfan Pathan has performed so well..... Now lets C, if it is a one tournament stint or the winning spree continues in the one days against australia...... Anyway Guddoos Team India....

Meena - The Shopping Queen!!!!!!

Meena and Lakshman had come down to chennai from bangalore.....so went to meet them yesterday and i accompanied meena to her shopping.... i have never had any interest or attraction towards shopping...given a choice, i would prefer to stay @ home, happily reading some novel or watching movies after movies rather than going for shopping....so i have never known what it is when people say they go for shopping and i have always wondered how do they shop for hours together.....but she showed it all to me in a day...... we started at about 12'o clock in the afternoon and finished around 5:30 in the evening........so ideally we have shopped for 5 1/2 hours.......oh god, i cant believe myself..... its not that i have now started loving shopping, but the fact is i enjoyed her company and thats the only reason i could do something which actually i am not very interested in........

Crusaders Wedding Season Continues!!!!!!

i think its going to be a wedding year for crusaders.......it all started with ayesha on may 4th, from then on, every month there has been atleast one wedding in the crusaders batch....the lastest to add to the list was Srividhya...went for her wedding reception yesterday, it was again a mini-alumini meet. met a lot of people whom i didnt get to meet in the previous wedding....but, no one has changed, just absolutely no change at all......thats the best part about it....And as always, we were the center of attraction in the marriage hall....screaming, having fun, teasing.....just got reminded of the Great Lakes days....looks like i just passed out of Great Lakes, but its already 5 months over.....time is running too fast.......

Shankar's Wedding!!!!!

Aug 26th..Shankar's wedding reception.....it was like great lakes crusaders mini-alumini meet....got to meet so many people...it felt really gr8 to see them all of such a long time.....everyone settled in their new work environment.....not much of change in any of them...chini at her best always, making the place so lively......Jagan, with his usual set of nakras....i dont think i can list of them here, but it was a wonderful evening....oh, how can i miss this, the food was so damn tasty :))))).......

The Bourne Ultimatum!!!!

This is probably the best of the three....The screenplay is so fast paced, that it keeps u on ur toes for the entire 2 hours....Matt Daemon has done it so well as Jason Bourne...This is probably the best movie that i have seen in recent times...

Cheeni Kum - So Realisitc

This is probably one of the best movies i have seen.....Every character in this movie is so realistic...no cliched dialogues, no over action, no unnecessary emotions, everything was so practical and realistic.....I think, Amitabh bachchan is the most charismatic actor i have seen....no one else could have done this role so beautifully as amitabh....It just came so naturally for him....He was at his best in every frame.....Tabu is no lesser to him. She has also done her job just right. But i think everyone who acted in this movie knew what is expected out of them and have just given the right proportion. nothing more, nothing less....Above all, the whole credit goes to the director Balki....Because he is the man behind the whole show.....After seeing so many masala movies ( btw, i like to watch masala movies too)....this is a welcome break... something different at the sametime very interesting....A 64 year old man falling in love with a 34 year old girl, the romance between them is portrayed so beautifully, and the 7 year old girl giving advice to this 64 years old man on how to handle his love relationship is so cute.....on the whole a very realistic movie to watch.....i just enjoyed every frame of it.....

I wish there was rewind button!!!!!!

met sathya, ipsita and priyadarshi after 2 1/2 months........it was like getting back to the old days.... we all sat together started talking each ones experience in the last 2 months, and then gossiped quiet a bit ........ It all reminded me of the Great Lakes college days....how many days we would have sat together like this in ipsita's house spoke about every topic under the sun, fought over so many issues, shared so many likes and dislikes.....those days were beautiful.......today was one such day..... sitting all over again at ipsita's new house and talking, fighting and gossiping and when we all 4 got in to the car, my mind just rewinded those long Besant nagar beach road drives......... i felt so nostalgic.....this was my small yet happening group at great lakes...we 4 ( me, ipsita, sathya and priyadarshi) have spent most of the time together in the last one year at great lakes.....now each one of us is in a different place ( yah, ipsita and priyadarshi are together).....but still as a group we are not together anymore........makes me feel really bad........i only wish there was rewind or pause button to life......... God!!!!!!!!! y didnt u give me that option...........

Busy, Not So Busy

I have been getting different feedbacks from all my MBA classmates who have joined their companies....There are people like Manan Sharma, who work till night 12 on an average every day and on the other side there a few people who are yet to allocated to any project...in IT language, it is called "Bench"....I was just thinking which group i belong to...Actually neither of them.....Because, i have been assigned to a project, so i am ruled out of the bench category, at the same time i am not very busy and some how manage to get out of the office mostly by 7:30 in the night and dont stay any longer.....So i dont belong to the busy bees category also.....i just wish this corporate life continues this way, where u do justice for wat you are paid for and at the same time you have some time for yourself also......i know i am being greedy...letz c how it goes.....

Flop Story - For The First Time

Have u been in a state where you have always got what you ask for, where everything that you plan has worked, where no one has said 'no' to u???? I have been...Actually, from my birth till a couple of days back i was in that state......Having been gifted with a wonderful family, where for everyone my happiness matters more than their own i think being in this state is not very difficult....but for the first time in my life, what i planned didnt happen or rather i didnt get what i wanted.....:((....Booked for a Logan Car 3 weeks back to gift my parents on their 25th wedding anniversary..... but just cancelled it a couple of days back...People responsible for this are HDFC Bank and my beautiful company TCS, who didnt credit my salary....This whole plan has consumed 2 months of my time..... how many showroom visits, how many test drives, how many finance options.....now looking back at it, everything is down the drain...Any logan car that pass by me is giving me a feeling of a loser.....i know i will get over it quite sooner....but still.....

A Question in my Mind

In this fast paced world, with technology wearing a new suit every day , we meet so many people and see so many new things. But why is it that, certain people/things have such an impact on us, that though they/it has passed us, we still remember it or rather keep thinking about it..... It is not ours, it is just something that came across us, but once it has gone past us, why is there a feeling of losing, why are we not able to understand that it was not ours and it would never be ours....why is it that we fail to respond and instead react to such situations....i donno, i just can't find an answer for all these questions........

Trivandrum - The experience was Fantastic to say the Least!!!!!!!!!!

The 12 days @ trivandrum was fantastic..... When i first landed there, was taken aback by the beauty but then on reaching the hostel, was disappointed by the accomodation..... after doing MBA air conditioner has become a necessity more than a luxury... just couldn't imagine staying without it. First time staying away from home and u enter ur room, all that u cud find there was just 2 beds with a fan and a mirror.... i just couldn't believe how TCS could do this...but then to compensate for all this came my Great Lakes People.... the group of 17...they were just wonderful to say the least... We havent spoken to each other during the college days except for an "HI".... but here, everyone of us got along as group so well that we had loads of fun...those evening shuttle and TT and Midnight GD's are just unforgettable..... i am already missing it so much.... wish the training could have been longer..... but every good thing has to end to start again sometime later....so now my day 1 at real work is starting tomorrow..... letz c wat TCS in chennai has got in store for me.....

Todays lunch with crusaders who have joined CSC Chennai....The plan was to meet @ 12 in spencer plaza...asusual, when Mr.Naughty Nachi (a) Project manager is there, u can be sure that they wud reach at the earliest by 1'o clock..... but surprisingly they reached by 12:30 itself.... Never in history Project Manager has been so close to the time....ha ha ha.....but, it was really great fun to sit in a group and talk to those people.....it been a month since i have seen all of them. People talking about their new projects, managers, new environment.....It was all nice to hear... i was the only person in the crowd who was jobless full time sleeping and eating at home....but just another 5 days and i am going to be back to IT....letz c watz in store for me.....Trivandrum u better be good to me.

NCFM - Finally Its Over

So finally i managed to write my NCFM certification.... Not that i studied day and night, just studied for one day and managed to do it decently....But whenever i was watching a movie or going out with my friends, there was always this thought in the corner of my mind reminding me that i have an exam, though that really didn't stop me from having fun....... but i have to accept that i couldn't enjoy whole heartedly from the time i enrolled for this test, which is exactly 2 weeks before......when i went to the test center today morning, i was actually 45 minutes early. never in my history of college/school have i gone this early for an exam, especially during my MBA days i would give a grand entry in to the exam hall by running once everyone is seated -:).. i was the only one who didn't carry a book....everyone there was studying so hard, i was just wondering how would this last minute study make any difference. But to tell the truth, they really made me feel uncomfortable and infact i even started getting worried about not taking the book......But thats ok, now all is over......The only thing that is in my mind now is the ooty trip...... A full family trip.....16 people ( not a small crowd)...:) going out like this after 3 long years.... Lets c, what these have got for me.....

Tara Rum Pum - A Sweet Movie

Before going for this movie, i heard so many bad/worse reviews about it. The Feedback from all my friends where bad. To add to it, when i went online to book tickets, 90% of the seats were empty. So I also had a second thought, that should i go for it. But i still decided to give a try and lemme tell you, its worth the try.

The Movie is very simple. A guy whose passion is driving, is caught by a race team manager and he enters Formula 1 racing. He turns out to become a super star by winning 25 consecutive races. Parallelly he falls in love with a girl, get married and become the father of 2 children. During the peak of his career, he meets with an accident in the racing. After a one year break he makes a come back, but towards the finishing line, the thought of the accident brings in a fear and he ends up coming last. So his career comes to the bottom and his family is in a heavy financial crisis. How do they handle it and finally how does he overcome the fear and wins again is the rest of the story.

Saif is looking really handsome in this movie. Especially his costumes are awesome. Rani comes with minimal clothes in the first half. Just because a girl is in new york, it doesn't mean she has to wear such minimal clothes. Rani, Change ur costume designer!!!! The two kids are really sweet. On the whole, this is one of those typical yash chopra movie, Where there is no big twist or turn. A family entertainer with some good songs, excellent picturisation, colourful background and a happy ending. You can watch it once.....

The MAN I Admire!!!!!!

Prof.Venkat R Krishnan. The man whom i admire the most. Crusaders call him Venky. He has handled 2 subjects for me during my MBA at Great Lakes, Philosophy and LIP(Leadership, Influence and Power). The moment he starts talking without your knowledge you will tend to listen and will start respecting him. The best part is, he always talks sense. Infact there is a fan's community created in orkut and during our convocation, everytime his name was uttered whether be it for winning the best HR faculty award or for releasing the Herald journal there was an standing ovation. In fact initially lot of people complained about his PGPM administration, but once he stepped out of the post and a new person got in, everytime when there was a problem they always told " if venky was there, this would have not happened".....

Some of his famous quotes in classes

"IF ur dharma requires you to kill, just close ur eyes and kill"
"If it is written on your face that you are gullible, I am going to fool you only !!"
" If you think something is wrong ,and everyone except you in this world think it is right..
Then its RIGHT......what you think does not matter in this world..what matters most is what others think......"
" What's wrong in giving jeelabes to faculty?? That's how you get your A's and B'S."
" Human beings are not rational beings..they are rationalising beings..."

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Prof. Venkat R Krishnan (a) Venky for u all....

My Yercaud Trip

Went for a three day trip with the most studious/sincere gang of my college...the PSG Tech gang.
But it was loads of fun to say the least.

This was the route.
chennai -> Rasipuram -> okenakal -> rasipuram -> salem -> yercaud -> salem -> rasipuram -> chennai.

It was a gang of 14 people, 12 from great lakes with Mrs.Lakshman and Mr. Man-Jerry. We had royal treatment in both Ashok's House and Maha's house. Okenakal falls was awesome. Especially when the water falls down to ur face with so much of force, u feel a sense of happiness.... that is just unforgettable.

The boat pedaling with Indra was a major fun thing, both of us started of with so much enthu and 10 mins down the line it all drained off.... then we were struggling to pedal the next 20 mins...
We also visited the Montfort school. Thanks to the Alumni Ashok. The campus was so huge and u name any game, they have facility for it....be it normal games like basket ball, volley ball or things like horse riding.... no wonder the students are all-rounders.....

It would not be fair if i dont mention the drivers of the Trip....Karthik and Sai....They have driven close to 9 hours on the first day....especially the return route from okenakal was a nightmare, but still they did an awesome job.....kuddos guys....

I should also mention about one other important person because of whom i came to this trip....he bullied me so much that i said yes to the trip.....The Project Manager of CSC ( Naughty Nachi..).

ThanQ Project Manager, if not for u i would have missed so much of fun...
Btw, i found out one thing from this trip...That is, "Guys gossip more than Girls" :))

On the whole, one of the best trip i have ever had.....Thanks to all of u, who made it so wonderful for me........
